The Kansas City Chiefs are bolstering their defensive line with a veteran presence in the middle of the action.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs have agreed to terms with former Baltimore Ravens defensive back Alohi Gilman on a three-year, $24.75 million deal with $15 million guaranteed.
The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Gilman in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft. The former Notre Dame standout was teammates with Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquil in college and later with the Chargers.
In 2025, Gilman started all 17 games he played for the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens, recording 90 tackles. During his six-year career, he has 320 tackles, 1 sack, five interceptions, and six fumble recoveries.
Gilman received a PFF grade of 70.4 last season, notably ranking fourth at his position in pass breakups. The 28-year-old brings physicality to the secondary under defensive backs coach Dave Merritt. Kansas City lost three starters in the secondary this offseason as the unit is expected to look significantly different in 2026.
