While the Oklahoma City Thunder are among the last four teams standing, they've joined the rest of the league in getting primed for the 2026 NBA draft. Thanks to their draft capital haul, they've enjoyed the best of both worlds as a title contender and lottery-bound team.
This year is no different. The Thunder enter the 2026 NBA draft with three picks — the No. 12 pick via the LA Clippers, the No. 17 pick via the Philadelphia 76ers and the No. 37 pick via the Dallas Mavericks. Of course, a lot can change from now until June 23-24.
With the 2026 NBA draft just a month away, teams across the league have begun to meet with prospects. The Thunder have done the same. They recently met with someone, which means there's some level of interest there to add to their pool of talent.
The Thunder have reportedly met with George Washington's Rafael Castro, per HoopsHype.
Castro played four college seasons from 2022-26. He spent his first two years at Providence before transferring to George Washington for the latter two years. The 23-year-old averaged 15.3 points on 62.7% shooting, 9.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 29 games last season. He didn't take a single outside attempt.
At 6-foot-11, 220 pounds, Castro provides decent size at the center position. He's expected to go around the undrafted range. Which means OKC will likely need to add him after the two-day event ends on a possible Summer League deal.
