We're one day away from the start of the 2025 NFL draft, and a lot of eyes are on the New Orleans Saints. With the top of the board beginning to settle into place -- Cam Ward is expected to be a Tennessee Titan, with Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter joining either the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants right after him -- some prognosticators are suggesting the draft really starts with the Saints at No. 9.

NFL Network's Jane Slater is in New Orleans to cover this year's draft and will be at the team facility on Thursday night when the Saints announce their pick. So what is she hearing on the ground?

"Bosses would love it to be a QB I'm sure," Slater wrote online, "but sounds like they are doing a lot of work on these three according to some teams and agents I’ve spoken with. With that being said, they are playing their cards really close to the vest so hard to really get a feel here but sounds like I’m getting some consensus on these 3 names."

The three names Slater identified: Mason Graham (the defensive tackle from Michigan), Jalon Walker (the outside linebacker/defensive end from Georgia), and Tetairoa McMillan (the wide receiver from Arizona). Two of them were reported as having made official pre-draft visits to New Orleans, with Graham and McMillan both among the 30 allotted formal meetings at the team headquarters in Metairie earlier this offseason. The Saints sent several key decision-makers (head coach Kellen Moore, college scouting director Jeff Ireland, and defensive coordinator Brandon Staley among them) on Gayle Benson's private jet to watch Walker and his teammate Mykel Williams go through a 20-minute workout in Georgia last week. Slater highlighting this trio lines up with what we've seen in the months leading up to this draft.

But will any of them make it to the Saints? Graham has been a consensus top-five pick for months, but maybe he drops. Walker has a slim chance of being available. Of the three, McMillan appears to be most likely, but he's experienced a rocky pre-draft process. Still, the Saints don't have anyone his size who can make the catches he does. Maybe that makes a difference.
