The Cincinnati Reds' Opening Day game March 26 against the Boston Red Sox at Great American Ball Park also means the debut of the new Reds.TV broadcast, and reporter Jim Day explained what that entails, before the start of the game.
"It's a new day for Reds' television broadcasting here on the new Reds.TV," Day explained. "We are ready to up the ante with more resources and more access to bring Reds.TV into the future in style. I'm talking into a cinematic-type camera, which has a shallow depth of feel. It'll give you a more artsy look if you will."
"We've got wirecam coming your way, whether it be a player rounding third and coming home for a close play at home plate," Day continued. "Multiple runners on. Where the defenses align. How a play unfolds. Wirecam, whether it be live or via replay, is gonna bring you deeper into the game. We've got our drone up here today. Are there any better shots than a sunny Opening Day in Cincinnati? You are gonna see some incredible shots today and we can't wait for that."
"We are committed to raising the bar, setting the blueprint that'll define what baseball broadcasting looks like for the next generation of baseball fans," Day added.
Reds.TV is available on Xfinity channel 1262, Spectrum channels 541 or 446, 304/1304, fubo, DirecTV channel 661-2 (or stream 661) and Altafiber channel 24, or for $99.99/season or $19.99/month streamed, with no blackouts.
