Yohandy Morales homered early and drove in the tying run in the ninth, and the Rochester Red Wings scored twice in the 10th to edge the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 8-7 in extras Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Park.

Rochester erased a 6-2 deficit with four unanswered runs across the eighth and ninth before pushing ahead for good in extras.

Christian Franklin set the tone in the first when he drew a walk, stole second and scored on Morales’ two-run home run to right for a 2-0 Rochester lead. Lehigh Valley answered in the fourth as Liover Peguero walked, Keaton Anthony singled and Bryan De La Cruz drove a three-run homer to left to put the IronPigs in front 3-2.

The IronPigs added on in the sixth when Peguero doubled to left and scored on Anthony’s RBI double to center, stretching the margin to 4-2. In the seventh, Dylan Carlson walked and came around on Gabriel Rincones Jr.’s RBI single to left before Felix Reyes scored on Otto Kemp’s sacrifice fly to right for a 6-2 Lehigh Valley advantage.

Franklin’s single started a Red Wings rally in the eighth. Morales singled and House followed with an RBI single to right to score Franklin and pull the Red Wings within 6-3. Morales scored on a wild pitch from Max Lazar, and House scored on Abimelec Ortiz’s RBI groundout to second to cut the deficit to 6-5.

In the ninth, pinch hitter Joey Wiemer walked and Adams worked a walk behind him before Trey Lipscomb reached on a bunt force play, with Phillip Glasser entering as a pinch runner. Franklin walked to load the bases, and Morales grounded softly to second, bringing Glasser home with the tying run to make it 6-6.

Rochester took the lead in the 10th when Seaver King hit a two-run home run to make it 8-6. Lehigh Valley added a run in the bottom half, but Rochester held on for the 8-7 win. Zak Kent earned the victory, and Eddy Yean recorded his eighth save. Kirby Snead took the loss for Lehigh Valley.
