Nate Eaton’s three hits at the top of the order couldn’t overcome how rough Roger Burgos’ four-inning start was, nor a home run allowed by a rehabbing Danny Coulombe. The WooSox never led the Red Wings (Nationals AAA) but kept it close, scoring three runs in the seventh. Still, the lack of a bonafide statement home run plagued the end of this game, and that comeback halted just short.

Anthony Eyanson may have walked three batters but, other than that, he was dominant in his five innings of work. Unhittable, in fact, as the Sea Dogs carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning thanks to the 21-year-old righty, who is now the organization’s number two prospect according to Soxprospects.com, following the graduations of Payton Tolle and Connelly Early. And so you have your next hyped pitcher to come through the system; he still has just two runs allowed in his professional career thus far.
Joe Vogatsky and Reidis Sena completed the shut out against the Fightin Phils’ (Phillies AA) and added to the night’s strikeout total; all told, Reading would be sat down 13 times. While Franklin Arias got an RBI knock in a two-hit night and continues looking good at the plate, the scoring was pretty quiet on Portland’s front, as they got out to a 1-0 lead that didn’t double until the seventh.
Greenville: W, 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Greenville had a convincing win against the newly-relocated Frederick Keys (Orioles High-A). Even though no pitcher was quite unhittable or even impenetrable from a runs standpoint, they struck out 16 Keys. They were aided by a fantastic eighth inning in which Jack Winnay’s three run shot sealed it. Greenville now has their second consecutive win for the first time since they won five in a row back in the third week of April.

The RidgeYaks, simply put, let the Howlers (Guardians A) treat the bases like batting practice. Arkansas product Christian Foutch had a rough go of it, allowing eight runs in two innings, and things got no easier from there, as they recorded just two strikeouts on the night and walked ten. The Howlers simply had an easier time advancing runners than the RidgeYaks, with Salem giving up eight hits with runners in scoring position.
Have a wild Wednesday.
