Real Madrid remain the most valuable club in the world for fifth consecutive year


After yet another season that saw Real Madrid fail to secure a single major trophy, it is clear that the club’s prestige has taken a hit, especially amid all the tension in the dressing room towards the end of the campaign.


However, that does not take anything away from the fact that Real Madrid are still the most marketable club in the world.

According to Forbes’ annual ranking (h/t \AS), Real Madrid have retained their position as the most valuable football club in the world for the fifth consecutive year and the tenth time in the last 13 editions of the prestigious list.


The club’s current valuation stands at a staggering $9.5 billion, representing a 41% increase compared to last year and placing them $2 billion ahead of the second most valuable club in the ranking.


Real Madrid generated $1.265 billion in revenue during the 2024-25 season, a 12% increase on the previous year.


That figure surpasses the $1.23 billion earned by the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, making Real Madrid the highest-earning sports club ever recorded in history.

Forbes attributed the valuation to a combination of factors, noting that Real Madrid combine unprecedented sporting success with one of the most recognisable brands in world football.


This is backed by their unmatched Champions League pedigree, global commercial appeal and the revenue generated by the renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium.


However, as Real Madrid prepare for the season ahead, there is much work to be done as incoming coach Jose Mourinho looks to steady the ship and help restore the club’s lost glory.


For now, though, the Portuguese tactician’s appointment is getting delayed due to the upcoming Real Madrid presidential elections, though it doesn’t quite bother Mourinho.
