Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans will lock horns in a crucial IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 on Tuesday evening at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
Defending champions RCB qualified for the playoffs for the second time in a row after finishing at the top of the table in the league stage with 18 points.
GT also finished with 18 points at the end of the league stage, but finished second behind RCB on net run. The top two teams will fight it out to book a berth in the IPL 2026 final.
RCB opener Jacob Bethell suffered an injury on his left ring finger and has been ruled out of action for the playoffs. The English batter has also headed back to the United Kingdom.
Bethell could be replaced by compatriot Phil Salt, who last played for RCB against DC on April 18. However, after that league game, Salt suffered an injury and remained out of action for the rest of the league stage.
The RCB management has yet to take a final call on Salt's fitness and captain Rajat Patidar mentioned in the pre-match press conference that the wicket-keeper has been kept under observation. Patidar said: "Phil Salt is fit, he is doing. He is under observation with the doctor, also. He is doing some drills also. We have not decided on our playing 11 yet. We will look at the wicket, and then we will decide."
