This isn't an exaggeration. Talk to anyone who loves the Baltimore Ravens. You won't find anyone who doesn't spend some of their pregame routine offering thoughts or prayers toward team safety.

No one wants injuries to occur, but sadly, we know they're unavoidable. It isn't our favorite part of the game, but they are a part of the game nonetheless.

Some say football is a contact sport. That isn't true. Football is a collision sport, and sometimes, unfortunate things happen. This time, however, on a routine play in coverage during Baltimore's first preseason game, sixth-round draft choice Bilhal Kone suffered a knee injury.

It wasn't fun to watch. He was carted off with an air cast on his leg. Head coach John Harbaugh confirmed he'll miss the entire season with ligament damage but shared the details of a moment he shared with the young Raven.

"[It was] very emotional. He playing well, too. Even in that play, he made a heck of a play, and then, even seeing him in the locker room just now was really hard, very hard. But, like I told him, 'The sun will come up tomorrow.

If the sun doesn't come up tomorrow, we will have much bigger problems. So, the sun will come up tomorrow, you'll get this taken care of. You'll be rehabbing. You're part of our team, and you'll be back. So, it's just not on the time that you hope for.' So, I think he'll see that in due time."

First-year star Malaki Starks chimed in by stating the following:

"You never want to see it. Football is 100% rate of injury, and you never know when it's going to happen. He's been working really hard to be in his position. His story is amazing and he's going to bounce back and be stronger than ever, but I know it's going to take some time, and we just have to be there for him the best way that we can."

For Starks, this is personal. He and Kone are close. They even trained together before being drafted, but you could see similar emotions on the faces of other teammates. They haven't known the young star long, but anyone can see a bond has already been built. This is a Ravens team and community that loves each other and prays for one another.

Man. Hate to see this.

Before joining the Ravens, Kone played two seasons for the Western Michigan Broncos, totaling 25 games. He stacked up 112 tackles, two interceptions, and 17 pass breakups.

This delays his journey toward his dreams of NFL stardom, but as Coach Harbaugh says, the sun will come up tomorrow. Here's to seeing him back on the field next season.
