Former lightweight title challenger Raven Chapman suffered a “brain haematoma and cerebral oedema” during a July 24th sparring session, resulting in an emergency surgery and subsequent induced coma.

Per her management, she “has been taken off sedatives” and will be transferred from her current hospital in Denmark to the UK. A GoFundMe has been created to pay for the effort, which includes £20,000 from Queensberry Promotions.

Chapman (10-2, 3 KO) fell to Skye Nicolson in Riyadh on the 2024 Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol show, then came up short in a bid for the British title against Karriss Artingstall a year later. “The Omen,” 32, has been boxing professionally since 2021.

Between this and the ongoing struggles of Lee Reeves, who collapsed after a loss to Gary Cully, it’s been a profoundly difficult week for UK boxing. Give if you can, keep them in your thoughts if you can’t.
