Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice did not face discipline from the NFL last season after domestic abuse allegations. But the legal troubles are continuing for the embattled Chiefs receiver. And now, he is heading back to jail.

Here's what we know so far.

Back in March of 2024, Rice was the driver of a Lamborghini Urus during a multi-car collision in Dallas. Rice was driving 119 mph in the crash that left multiple people injured. And on top of that, he left the scene before police and first responders arrived.

Rice would later be arrested and charged with multiple felonies. That is what's coming back into play on Tuesday.

Rice's guilty plea

Stemming from that 2024 crash, Rice pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges. Facing the potential of multiple years in prison, Rice agreed to serve 30 days in jail and five years of probation with the guilty plea. The case would have been dismissed with a completed probation.

The NFL also suspended Rice for six games.

Rice reportedly violated his probation

NBC 5 in Dallas obtained court records that showed Rice had tested positive for marijuana (THC), which violated the terms of his probation.

Those court documents — which were filed on Tuesday — ordered Rice to serve 30 days in jail and be released on June 16.

What are the Chiefs saying about the court order?

So far, the Chiefs have yet to comment about this latest legal issue for Rice. But with the 30-day jail order, Rice will miss Chiefs OTAs and mandatory minicamp.

Rice was booked in Dallas County Jail on Tuesday to start his sentence.
