Texas Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager is off to a great start at the plate in 2025, batting .300 with 6 home runs and 12 RBI.

Unfortunately, as has been the case with Seager throughout his MLB career, injuries have stalled him at times.

A stint on the injured list with a right hamstring strain sidelined Seager from April 23 through May 2. He was activated on May 3, returning for an AL West rivalry game against the Seattle Mariners, but his comeback tour didn't last long.

On May 13, the Rangers' public relations team announced that "SS Corey Seager [was] placed on 10-day Injured List, retroactive to 5/11."

Rangers transactions for Tuesday:

- SS Corey Seager placed on 10-day Injured List, retroactive to 5/11 (right hamstring strain).
- C Kyle Higashioka activated from 10-day Injured List (mild left intercostal strain).

It's another "right hamstring strain" for Seager, who appears to have reaggravated his previous injury.

With Seager freeing up a spot on the roster, Texas also relayed that they are activating catcher Kyle Higashioka from the 10-day Injured List. Higashioka had been sidelined with a mild left intercostal strain.

"With today's transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club's Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List," Rangers PR noted in a follow-up post.

Seager homered twice on May 10, with 6 RBI since his return. Obviously, the two-time World Series MVP and 5-time MLB All-Star will be missed both in the lineup and at shortstop.

This roster move occurred just before 5 p.m. (EST) on May 13, a few hours before the Rangers' Tuesday night matchup with the Colorado Rockies.

Entering the game, Texas sits exactly at .500 in the win/loss column, with a 21-21 record. They are 2.0 games back of the Mariners in the AL West.
