In November, Rams offensive lineman Rob Havenstein walked off the field following a win against the Seattle Seahawks. Later that week, he was placed on injured reserve due to bursitis in his ankle and knee. He would not return during the season, and fans were hopeful that he'd be back to his regular self in 2026. Instead, they're now bidding farewell to the veteran star.
Havenstein announced in a social media post on Tuesday that he would be retiring after an 11-year career in the NFL. The move comes after his most recent three-year contract extension expired following the end of the 2025 season.
"Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, and fans who have supported me and helped me over these past 11 years," Havenstein wrote on social media. "I have had the time of my life with the Los Angeles Rams (formerly known as the St. Louis Rams) and can't thank the whole organization enough for giving me a shot back in 2015...As this chapter ends, I couldn't be more grateful, hopeful, and excited to see what comes next!"
Havenstein was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft and earned a starting role at right tackle during his rookie season, a role he would hold for most of his career. He helped lead the Rams to four NFC West Championships, two NFC Championships, and one Super Bowl Championship over his career.
