The Los Angeles Rams have already seen three of their cornerbacks depart in free agency, with both Cobie Durant heading to the NFC East as members of the Dallas Cowboys. Another Rams veteran corner could also land in that same division.

According to NFL Network, Ahkello Witherspoon is visiting the Washington Commanders as a free agent. It’s the first reported interest in Witherspoon from any team, so if things go well during his visit with the team, it’s possible Washington will sign him.

Witherspoon missed most of last season with a broken clavicle. After returning from IR, he reinjured his clavicle and missed the rest of the season, including the playoffs.

He’s spent the last three years with the Rams but is likely on his way out after Los Angeles traded for Trent McDuffie and signed Jaylen Watson in free agency, bolstering their biggest weakness in the secondary.

In six games last season, Witherspoon had one interception and two passes defensed. It was his third straight time signing a one-year deal with the Rams, taking it season by season in L.A.
