The Los Angeles Rams exceeded expectations this past season once again, reaching the postseason despite early season challenges. Los Angeles was decimated with injuries all season long, but the team fought though it all, winning the NFC West title in the process.

A lot of this had to do with the play of star quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford showed that he could still perform at a very high level in the NFL, almost willing the Rams to victory in a lot of games.

Los Angeles is very happy to have Stafford around, and the two sides agreed to a new deal to keep him in town. But Stafford is getting older, and he could hang up his cleats soon.

Rams head coach Sean McVay weighed in on all this and got brutally honest about Stafford's future with the team.

"We have a chance with him every time he's at the switch, and love working with him. And I think he can play as long as he wants, but fortunately, I'm hoping it's a couple more years," McVay told Adam Schein on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio.

Stafford threw for 3,762 yards with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season. The veteran looked very effective on the field, using his star wide receiving corps to his advantage.

"I think he came out of this season feeling really good physically," McVay said. "And one of the things that I think is a tremendous credit to him, Adam, you look at [those] playoff games that he's played in with us, the four his first year where he goes 4-0, leads us to a Super Bowl, you go to the '23 season, he did everything in his power to try to will us to a victory against an excellent Detroit football team in '23. And then this past year, he balls against Minnesota, and he does his thing against Philadelphia."

The Rams will be looking for another Super Bowl title this coming season, with Stafford leading the charge once again. Los Angeles could be a sleeper Super Bowl team this coming year after a strong offseason that saw them add Davante Adams to the mix.
