Determined to strengthen its squad for next season, PSG is working behind the scenes. With the mission of recruiting a midfielder and a winger, Luis Campos has set his sights on Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville, per reports.
West Ham, recently relegated to the Championship, has set a total price of around $142 million. And the first contacts have already been made.
PSG will undoubtedly reinforce its squad this summer. While the club, driven by its status as a two-time European champion, has a high-quality starting lineup, it still lacks depth to compete more confidently in all competitions.
Therefore, the management is carefully considering signing a center-back, a backup for Nuno Mendes on the left, a midfielder, and a winger. While PSG keeps its defensive targets secret, we now know the identity of two players highly valued within the club. Both play for West Ham United.
First, there is Fernandes. It is worth noting that since Campos took over at PSG, the Portuguese has preferred to surround himself with compatriots. The successes of Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Nuno Mendes are the clearest examples of this strategy.
According to Foot Mercato, the Parisian club is now looking for another Portuguese player. At 21, this midfielder is a true gem. Trained at Sporting CP, he made his Premier League debut in 2024 with Southampton before West Ham signed him for $48 million.
A complete midfielder with excellent vision and great ability to recover balls and press, standing out especially for his creativity. He possesses excellent long passes and often drops deep to receive and direct play, but can also push forward into attack as a secondary option.
Under contract until 2030, he naturally has numerous suitors across Europe. To avoid competition, Campos has contacted the London club's management, which has already informed him of his price: $87 million.
The other Parisian target is Summerville. The brilliant 24-year-old left winger, currently playing in the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands national team, has been one of the few positive points in West Ham's disappointing season, alongside his Portuguese teammate.
A very energetic player with an explosive style, Summerville is capable of making the difference in individual duels on his flank. Highly appreciated by the London fans, the former Leeds player is one of the most sought-after on the market.
However, the price West Ham is asking, around $55 million, has deterred more than one suitor. Again, initial conversations have already taken place between the key figures in PSG's transfer negotiations and the English team.
Although the Parisians have not yet made a firm offer, the interest in both players is real and concrete. If PSG wants to achieve its goal and secure this double coup, it will have to shell out $142 million in total.
However, in Paris, they have a significant advantage in upcoming negotiations: the reigning two-time European champion intends to make the most of West Ham's serious difficulties. Following their recent relegation to the Championship, the London club will be forced to sell its best players to balance its books and reduce its wage bill.
