PSG and AC Milan officially announced on Tuesday, June 30, the transfer of Goncalo Ramos to Lombardy. The Portuguese striker, who joined the club in 2023, becomes the biggest incoming transfer in the history of the Italian club.

Well advanced since last Friday, Goncalo Ramos' move to AC Milan is now official. Seeking a new striker for its new Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, AC Milan broke the bank for PSG's Portuguese goal scorer, who made 131 appearances for the Parisian club, scoring 45 goals, providing 10 assists, and winning 12 trophies, including two Champions League titles.

"Paris Saint-Germain thanks Goncalo Ramos for his professionalism, commitment and contribution to the club's many successes, and wishes him all the best for the remainder of his career," PSG wrote in a statement full of appreciation. Although he never managed to establish himself as an undisputed starter under Luis Enrique, Goncalo Ramos was arguably the best substitute in the club's history and, despite his role, never complained and always displayed an excellent attitude.

For its part, AC Milan officially announced the signing of the former Benfica striker on a five-year contract running through 2031. As for the transfer fee, it represents a club-record incoming transfer for AC Milan, although the exact amount has not been disclosed by either side.

Since last Friday, there has been a dispute over the figures related to the transfer. Sky Italia reported €65 million plus €5 million in bonuses, while Fabrizio Romano mentioned a fixed fee of €74 million plus bonuses. Other Portuguese outlets, such as A Bola, reported only €60 million including bonuses, while in France, RMC Sport cited €70 million plus "significant bonuses that cannot be triggered easily."

Everyone agrees, however, that PSG sold its backup center forward extremely well. Ramos was signed in 2023 for €65 million plus €15 million in bonuses, although it is not certain that all of those add-ons were ultimately paid. It should also be noted that the transfer was officially completed on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the final day of the 2025-26 financial year. That is anything but a coincidence. Finally, the transfer window officially opened in Italy on Monday, June 29, which also explains the timing.
