Alabama basketball appears set to have another player selected in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft as coach Nate Oats continues to turn his program into a stepping stone to the next level.

Alabama guard Labaron Philon is the latest Crimson Tide player who expects to hear his name called at this year's draft, set for Wednesday, June 25 at 7 p.m. CT at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. The 2025 NBA Draft will be televised on ABC and ESPN.

Monday night saw the reveal of the draft order. The Dallas Mavericks, who traded star Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers back in February. ended up with the No. 1 overall pick after winning the draft lottery.

As for where Philon is projected to go, USA TODAY Sports' HoopsHype on Tuesday unveiled its 2025 NBA Draft Predictor, an advanced system that factors in their Aggregated Mock Draft and a workout tracker to "generate the probability of every player landing at each draft slot."

Philon is a projected second-round pick by HoopsHype and other NBA mock drafts, including ESPN. He has until May 28 to withdraw from the draft, should he decide to return to Alabama for his sophomore season.

In the meantime, his draft forecast includes these teams in the second round, according to HoopsHype:

Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets already have one former Crimson Tide star in franchise player Brandon Miller, who Charlotte selected with the No. 2 overall pick in 2023. HoopsHype gives Philon a small chance to be taken with the Hornets' at No. 34 overall, the highest available spot he appears in their mock draft.

Hornets projections at No. 34 overall:

  • PF Yaxel Lendeborg, UAB: 30.9 percent
  • SF Adou Thiero, Arkansas: 15.3 percent
  • PG Labaron Philon, Alabama: 14.2 percent
  • PF Maxime Raynaud, Stanford: 13 percent
  • SF Hugo Gonzales, Spain: 11.9 percent

Philadelphia 76ers

Alabama has eight former players currently in the NBA. One of them is forward Alex Reese.

Sixers' projections at No. 35 overall:

  • PF Maxime Raynaud: 21.9 percent
  • SF Adou Thiero: 16.7 percent
  • PG Labaron Philon: 15.8 percent
  • PF Yaxel Lendeborg: 15.2 percent
  • C Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton: 11.8 percent

Brooklyn Nets

As with the Hornets, the Nets already have a former Alabama star on their active roster in forward-center Noah Clowney, whom Brooklyn selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft.

Philon could be another Alabama player to spend one season in Tuscaloosa before joining the Nets' organization. In fact, HoopsHype gives Brooklyn the highest overall probability of any team to select Philon.

Nets' projections at No. 36 overall:

  • PG Labaron Philon: 30.3 percent
  • C Ryan Kalkbrenner: 14.1 percent
  • SF Adou Thiero: 12.1 percent
  • PF Maxime Reynaud: 10.5 percent
  • PF Yaxel Lendeborg: 9.9 percent

Detroit Pistons

Philon again leads the way as the top pick available at this stage of the draft, according to HoopsHype metrics. An interesting name also appears on this list in the form of an Alabama rival.

Pistons' projections at No. 37 overall:

  • PG Labaron Philon: 21.1 percent
  • C Ryan Kalkbrenner: 15.1 percent
  • SF Adou Thiero: 13.4 percent
  • PF Maxime Raynaud: 12.0 percent
  • C Johni Broome, Auburn: 11.2 percent

San Antonio Spurs

The metrics don't see much likelihood of Philon being on the board at No. 38 overall, but he's still included in the Spurs' potential second-round pick (their third overall draft selection).

Spurs' projections at No. 38 overall:

  • SF Adou Thiero: 21.1 percent
  • PF Maxime Reynaud: 19.7 percent
  • C Ryan Kalkbrenner: 15.1 percent

  • C Johni Broome: 8.5 percent

Wizards' projections at No. 40 overall:

  • C Johni Broome: 13.2 percent
  • SG Drake Powell, North Carolina: 13.0 percent
  • PF Maxime Raynaud: 11.0 percent
  • PG Labaron Philon: 10.4 percent
  • SF Adou Thiero: 9.8 percent
