CANTON — Larry Fitzgerald is being enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this afternoon at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver is part of the five-man Class of 2026.
They received their gold jackets Friday night and today they will unveil their bronze busts, which will be permanently displayed at the Hall of Fame.
We'll have live updates on Fitzgerald's speech during the Enshrinement, which begins at noon today.
His son, Devin, will be his presenter today. Devin Fitzgerald is a freshman wide receiver at Notre Dame after starring in high school in Arizona.
A Minneapolis native, Fitzgerald starred at the University of Pittsburgh.
Arizona selected Fitzgerald with the third overall pick in the 2004 draft. He spent his entire career with the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-3, 218-pound Fitzgerald is second in NFL history in both receptions with 1,432 and receiving yards with 17,492, trailing only the Jerry Rice's 1,549 catches for 22,895 yards. Fitzgerald's 121 career receiving TDs are sixth.
Fitzgerald reached the playoffs four times in his career, with his first trip proving quite memorable. He caught 30 passes for 546 yards and seven touchdowns in four postseason games for the 2008 Cardinals, ending in their 27-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII. Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns during that game in Tampa.
Fitzgerald had only two seasons with fewer than 63 catches, his rookie year (58) and his final year (54) in 2020. He totaled less than 700 receiving yards only once, his final season (409). He missed just nine games in 17 seasons, with his 263 games played ranking second only to Rice (303) among wide receivers.
Fitzgerald made 11 Pro Bowls and was selected to the Hall of Fame's all-decade team of the 2010s. He was one of the 100 players selected to the NFL's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2019. Fitzgerald joined Tom Brady and Adam Vinatieri as the only active players on the team at the time of its release.
