Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year's Penn State roster. Fortunately, not every face will be brand new to fans. Regardless, we will be here to give you a fresh overview of every player on the roster for the 2026 season with a series of player profiles.

Class of 2025: Consensus 3-star, No. 53 ranked cornerback, per 247Sports
Originally a Louisville commit, Joshua Johnson decommitted from the school in the fall of 2024, agreeing to join the Nittany Lions just five days later.
Johnson played sparingly in his freshman season, appearing in three games and making one tackle.
It will be tough for Johnson to get on the field as a cornerback, but he has a leg up due to the fact that he also played safety in high school. This versatility could make him a valuable commodity for the new coaching staff.
Somewhat of a ballhawk in high school, Johnson intercepted six passes in his junior and senior seasons combined.
