Nika Prevc overcame freezing conditions and a rare below-par jump to claim another women's ski jumping victory in front of a Slovenian home crowd on Sunday.
Wrapped in a blanket, Prevc had to sit through a wind-related break before her first jump in Ljubno which was a modest 85 metres. But she hit back with 92m in the second for a fourth win in a row, ninth of the season and 31st overall.
Austrian Lisa Eder led the first round ahead of Prevc with 87.5m but lost out for a fourth straight runner-up finish by 1.0 points after 90.5m in the second. Former multiple world champion Katharina Schmid of Germany was third with 90m and 89.5m.
“Yes, conditions were tough and I was also fighting with my jumps. I was trying to do my best, I didn’t, but I’m still very satisfied as these jumps are very strong,” Prevc said.
The women's World Cup continues in Asia with competitions in China and Japan.
The men have a large hill event in Zakopane, Poland later in Sunday.
Nordic combined skiers had their final weekend events in Otepää, Estonia in the formal of normal hill compact competitions.
Norway's Ida Marie Hagen claimed a sixth success in seven season competitions and a 23rd overall ahead of Minja Korhonen of Finland and American skier Alexa Brabec on the women's side.
Defending World Cup champion Nathalie Armbruster of Germany was disqualified because her jumping suit was not according to the rules.
The men's event was won by Austrian former World Cup champion Johannes Lamparter for a fourth season success and 22nd overall ahead of Germans Johannes Rydzek and Vinzenz Geiger.
The Nordic combined World Cup continues next weekend in Oberhof, Germany.
