Although Friday night's game didn't end as hoped for the Philadelphia Phillies, the day certainly started off on the right foot. Philadelphia sports fans had plenty to celebrate after LeBron James announced his decision to join the 76ers for the 2026-27 NBA season, and not surprisingly, the Phillies made sure to welcome him to town with a tip of the cap from the Phillie Phanatic.
As MLB reporter Bryan Hoch caught on video, the Phillie Phanatic started off the welcome party in perfect fashion by doing LeBron's iconic chalk toss. The video wrapped up with the Phanatic holding up a sign that read "Welcome LeBron," which drew a strong ovation from fans.
