The Houston Texans are known for their stifling defense led by head coach DeMeco Ryans; however, serious questions persist about their offense. Particularly on their offensive line and the weapons for quarterback CJ Stroud. In PFSN writer Ian *******’s latest three-round 2027 NFL mock draft, he had them address these needs and gave Stroud the tools he needed to establish the Texans as a Super Bowl contender.

Obviously, it’s way too early to name these prospects as perfect fits for the Texans. However, that’s not the point of these exercises. Summer scouting and these pre-season mocks are meant to inform the fanbase of potential options and give them players to watch during the season.

Having said that, here’s a breakdown of Cummings selections for the Texans.

Round One: Jordan Seaton, OT, LSU

Jordan Seaton spent the previous two seasons at Colorado before transferring to LSU. Now, he’s set to be a cornerstone blocker for one of the most dynamic players in the nation, Sam Leavitt, and arguably the top offense in the SEC. Seaton has the raw traits of a potential franchise tackle. His superb athleticism, technical refinement in pass protection, and power make him an intriguing prospect.

The biggest issue for the Texans in 2025 was their offensive line. CJ Stroud was constantly under duress and wasn’t given time to operate in the pocket. This resulted in him either getting sacked or being forced to make an errant throw while escaping the pocket. Because of this, adding Seaton or another offensive tackle next offseason would be a wise move.

Round Two: Wyatt Young, WR, Oklahoma State

Wyatt Young had a breakout season at North Texas last year with 1,264 yards and 10 touchdowns. The true junior is exceptional after the catch and creates ample separation with his impressive route running. Young transferred to Oklahoma State this offseason with head coach Eric Morris and quarterback Drew Mestemaker, so the familiarity is there to help ease the transition to the Power Four level. If all goes well, he could be a potential option for the Texans next offseason.

Round Three: Raleek Brown, RB, Texas

Raleek Brown burst onto the national scene in 2025 with a stellar 1,134 rushing yards, 239 receiving yards, and six all-purpose touchdowns at Arizona State last season. He pairs elite short-area quickness with superb home-run speed that makes him a challenge for defenders to chase. Brown now joins the Longhorns backfield with fellow transfer Hollywood Smothers to create a dangerous tandem. Although his carries and yards may decrease, be on the lookout for his efficiency to skyrocket.
