Pro Football Focus graded their top edge defenders from the 2025 NFL season, and Houston Texans star Will Anderson leads the pack with a grade of 93.1. Meanwhile, Denver Broncos edge Nik Bonitto ranks 15th with a 79.2 ranking, shared with Khalil Mack. PFF writer Ryan Smith detailed Bonitto’s growth and where he can improve: run defense.
“Bonitto has improved his PFF overall grade in each year, from 52.4 as a rookie in 2022 to 79.2 this season," Smith wrote for PFF. "While there is still room to improve as a run defender, he’s established himself as one of the game’s best pass-rushers, generating 81 pressures and an 86.5 PFF pass-rush grade this season.”Will Bonitto leap out of the 70s and grade out in the 80s in 2026? If he takes Smith’s advice, there's a strong chance he can. The Broncos are looking to contend again in 2026 and behind, and they will need Bonitto if they want to get it done.
