In the 10 years that Sean McVay has been in charge of the Los Angeles Rams, his teams have been perpetual competitors, winning a Super Bowl and consistently being in the championship mix. 2025 was no different as the team made it to the NFC Championship Game, led by MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford.
The Rams have built their roster uniquely and aggressively, using their top draft picks as trade capital for star players. As a result, they have only made two selections in the first round during the McVay era. Their selections of Jared Verse and Ty Simpson have yet to pay off fully, as Verse was traded for Myles Garrett and Simpson has not played a snap in the NFL.
One of the reasons the Rams have been able to build a complete roster without first-round selections is their ability to find talent in overlooked places. A reality in the NFL is that it is difficult to find top talent on the line of scrimmage because there isn't a pool of talent coming from the collegiate level. Those are true separator positions.
The Rams are the exception as Pro Football Focus' Daire Carragher named offensive linemen Alaric Jackson and Coleman Shelton, along with defensive tackle Poona Ford, to his 2026 all-undrafted team.
Ford was a breakout star with the Chargers and continued his impressive play with the Rams. Shelton and Jackson were pivotal pieces in keeping Matthew Stafford healthy last season. Their play and communication, along with their teammates on the line, helped Stafford lead the league in passing yards and touchdowns.

Having two Rams interior linemen on this team speaks to the organization's ability to identify and develop overlooked talent. Despite consistently parting with premium draft capital, Los Angeles has remained competitive in part because of its success in uncovering contributors outside the draft's early rounds.
