Former New England Patriots defensive back Jason McCourty shared some insight into what is being said behind closed doors regarding the A.J. Brown trade rumors.

The Philadelphia Eagles receiver is expected to be traded to the Patriots on or after June 1. However, we haven't seen any definitive progress, and everyone is in wait-and-see mode. The Patriots clearly need a true No. 1 receiver to help take the top off opposing defenses.

And the Eagles have made enough moves at receiver to signal that a trade feels inevitable.

"You've got to be patient. June," McCourty told Kay Adams on Up & Adams. "All the people that are on the inside and that they know continue to echo the same sentiment that it's almost a done deal that [Brown's] going to be a New England Patriot," McCourty stated.

All eyes will be on Monday and Tuesday to see if any movement happens with Brown and the Patriots.

Adding an elite receiver across from Romeo Doubs would instantly elevate the Patriots' wide receivers room to a place it hasn't been in years. After months of hints and teases, an answer might finally be around the corner.
