New England Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane returned to practice Thursday.
Spillane injured his ankle in the Patriots’ 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. The Western Michigan product was on New England’s Super Bowl bye week injury report beginning on Wednesday, January 28. Spillane did not practice last Thursday or Friday.
Neither did he in the Patriots’ first run through of the week on Wednesday. Before Thursday's practice, the 30-year-old was reported to be planning to return to the practice field, and with that, the Patriots upgraded Spillane to a limited participant.
Spillane has 14 tackles for the Patriots in the playoffs. The seven-year veteran also has two passes defended. His next chance to take the practice field will be on Friday.
Linebacker Harold Landry III was the only Patriots player who did not participate in practice. Here is the full injury report for both teams on Thursday:
