The New England Patriots were busy making multiple roster moves on Tuesday, following an injury-riddled Sunday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens.

They announced they are signing former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes to the 53-man roster, along with the decision to place rookie defensive tackle Joshua Farmer on injured reserve. The team also announced that former Kansas City Chiefs running back Elijah Mitchell and former New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Smith have been signed to the practice squad.

Offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez has been released from the practice squad to make room.

Jaimes could serve as a versatile backup along the offensive front with experience playing at both the tackle and guard positions. Jared Wilson, Morgan Moses and Thayer Munford Jr. all left Sunday's game with injuries. It's clear that the Patriots' offensive line needs more depth.

Speaking of depth, they are probably hoping Mitchell could help at running back, whether he's on the practice squad or the main roster. With TreVeyon Henderson in concussion protocol, the team would be down to Rhamondre Stevenson and D'Ernest Johnson as their top two running backs. Mitchell has 12 NFL starts under his belt in three seasons. He nearly rushed for over 1,000 yards in 11 game appearances as a rookie with the San Francisco 49ers.

Meanwhile, Smith, a former undrafted rookie, will likely serve as a developmental practice squad option.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel announced on Tuesday that Henderson, Wilson and Kayshon Boutte were all in concussion protocol. Defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga is also dealing with a foot injury that is expected to keep him out for one-to-two weeks.
