New England Patriots guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is impressed with his new team.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Mike Kadlick, Vera-Tucker stated at the Patriots’ second mandatory minicamp practice on Wednesday that he has taken a liking to the winning culture that is pervasive in New England this offseason.
“I’ve really enjoyed myself out here,” Vera-Tucker said. “Just to be a part of a team where everybody expects excellence. … I’m just really lucky and blessed to be a part of something like that.”
Vera-Tucker signed a three-year, $42 million deal with the Patriots in free agency. He spent all four seasons of his career with the New York Jets from 2021-24, having never made the playoffs in that span.
The California native is now preparing to play in his first season with the Patriots in 2026 after New England advanced to the Super Bowl at the end of last season. Vera-Tucker is expected to add to the Patriots’ offensive line as the starting left guard.
