Pat McAfee Makes Bold Statement After Pacers-Cavaliers Game 1

The Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers kicked off their second-round NBA playoff series on Sunday evening. While the Cavaliers entered the series as the favorite, the Pacers were able to steal Game 1 by a final score of 121-112.

Tyrese Haliburton led the way for Indiana, scoring 22 points to go along with 13 assists and shooting 9-for-15 from the floor. Andrew Nembhard led the team in scoring wih 23 points and dished out six assists himself.

Cleveland saw Donovan Mitchell score 33 points, but he shot just 13-for-30 from the floor and 1-for-11 from the 3-point arc. Ty Jerome came off the bench to score 21 points and record eight assists.

Following the game, top-tier sports analyst Pat McAfee took to X to share a bold statement about the series.

"The Pacers are a real problem… everybody thought I was just [expletive] because I’m friends with the 'most overrated' dude in the league," he wrote. "THE PACERS ARE ELITE… and @TyHaliburton22 is the PERFECT dude to lead this city."

In the first half, the Pacers started off the game strong with a 36-25 first quarter. The Cavaliers won the second quarter by a score of 33-28.

Coming out of halftime, Cleveland won the third quarter by a four-point spread. Indiana closed it out strong by winning the fourth quarter 29-22 to take the win and steal home-court advantage.

Game 2 will be played on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. ET on TNT. The Pacers will be looking to take a controlling 2-0 series lead before heading back to Indiana for Game 3 and Game 4.
