The San Diego Padres are 29-20 on the season, and one of the better teams around Major League Baseball. But, they still have some needs worth addressing at the trade deadline.

It's fairly obvious that this team could use more starting rotation help, or even offensive help, with a few key players like Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Jackson Merrill not playing too well this season.

But, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic, the Padres are reportedly already exploring the trade market to resolve their Mason Miller problem.

Padres exploring reliever help 2 months before deadline​

"Still, more than two months before the Aug. 3 trade deadline, the Padres are exploring the market for relief help, league sources told The Athletic," Lin reports.

The Padres have one of, if not the best, bullpens in all of Major League Baseball. Why would they be exploring a trade for a reliever already?

Well, their bullpen has been heavily taxed, and the recent struggles of Miller might be the reason why the Padres are considering more relief help.

Lin notes the Padres are "wary of overworking" their elite bullpen, Miller included. It's not even June yet, and it's way too soon to be using their bullpen as much as they are.

Miller is still awesome, and they have a ton of other great relievers. But the Padres, ideally, should be looking to add a bit more help to their bullpen this season.

It's a long season, and relying too heavily on Miller is a big risk not worth taking, especially throughout the entire season.

While this problem isn't a dire one for the Padres, it's still a real problem they are looking to address with this report from Lin, indicating A.J. Preller is already eyeing some more reliever help at the trade deadline.
