HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Team Kentucky’s Owensboro flag football team saw its run come to an end at the Special Olympics USA games, but not before finishing with a medal.

The undefeated team fell to Indiana in the semi-finals. As we told you last week the team was headed to the Special Olympics USA games in Minnesota.

“I am speechless:” Owensboro team set to represent Kentucky in 2026 Special Olympics USA Games

The Kentucky squad faced an Indiana team in the semi-finals Wednesday, but they lost 49-12. However, they scored a victory on Thursday, securing a bronze medal after beating a team from Pennsylvania 39-24.

Last October, the team was selected to represent team Kentucky at the national games. They made up 10 of the 37 athletes representing Kentucky.
