The Washington Commanders got better at several positions this offseason.
Running back, tight end, edge rusher, and linebacker are just some of the position groups that clearly added more talent this offseason. However, if there's one group that, at least on paper, doesn't seem better, it's the wide receivers.
Deebo Samuel, who was the team's leading receiver in 2026, was not re-signed, and the only notable free agent additions were Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson. Rookie Antonio Williams shows promise, but it's not ideal to rely on a third-round rookie immediately.
As a result, the Commanders have frequently been linked to veteran receivers, like Brandon Aiyuk and Stefon Diggs. But what if a potential answer is already on the roster? Today, let's look at an undrafted free agent who could force his way into the team's plans.
Jaden Bradley signed with the Commanders shortly after going undrafted this year. Bradley had his best collegiate season in 2025 at UNLV, catching 58 passes for 931 yards and four touchdowns.
The receiver has good size and speed, and in a wide-open receiver room, it wouldn't be surprising to see the rookie break through. During the offseason program, Bradley made some nice catches and showed off his hands. He's not a burner, but he's quick enough, and he uses his size to come down with 50/50 balls.
Looking at the Commanders' receiver depth chart, we feel comfortable calling Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey, and Jaylin Lane making the roster. The main competitors for the final spot are Van Jefferson and Treylon Burks.
Jefferson looked good over the summer, but he's also 30 and isn't getting any better. Burks, meanwhile, has never been able to stay healthy in the NFL and is an unproven commodity. As a result, the Commanders could decide to go with the high-upside UDFA instead.
I still think it's a long shot for Bradley to make it. The UNLV product would have to have a phenomenal camp and preseason. It's just that, in a weak room, it wouldn't be the most surprising thing if a preseason standout jumped the non-spectacular veterans in front of him.
