Suwinski to Miller to Tibbs.
That's the throw sequence that had Oklahoma City Comets fans in disbelief on Sunday afternoon.
During a game against the Round Rock Express, the Comets had a two-run lead at the top of the seventh inning. Noah Miller caught a ball off Jack Suwinski's attempted sliding catch and threw it to James Tibbs III to double off a runner at first base.
The Comets won the game 7-3, but still lost the six-game series 2-4.
Comets broadcaster Alex Freedman used social media to say, "This is about as close as I've ever come to saying 'holy (expletive)' on the air." Meanwhile, several fans said it is moments like this that make them love the sport.
"Chaos baseball is the best baseball," a fan wrote on X.
Many also compared the play to a "Banana Ball" game, typical for its quick-paced games. The Savannah Bananas will play in OKC on Aug. 21 and 22 at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The games will feature official games from the Banana Ball Championship League, with the Texas Tailgaters facing the Indianapolis Clowns.
