We’ve all known this is what was going to happen. Notre Dame basketball just ended a terrible season, has retained its head coach, and no extra money for NIL (that we know of) is being pumped into the program. Add it all together and you get a mass exodus of your best talent.

On Monday, it is officially Cole Certa’s turn to jump into the transfer portal.

NEW: Notre Dame guard Cole Certa plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag, @JoeTipton reports.

Certa joins Ryder Frost, Sir Mohammed, Jalen Haralson, Garrett Sundra, and Markus Burton in the portal to find new homes that offer a better chance at winning and obviously a bigger contract amount.

So… again — we knew this was coming, but it still doesn’t make it any easier to take. Notre Dame basketball is in serious trouble, and will likely be for a few years regardless of who is coaching.
