Notre Dame baseball has had more than a few MLB draft first-round picks, but not since 2013 has a player heard their name getting called that early. However, that could change tomorrow

ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel released his final mock draft consisting of the first two rounds, and they have starting pitcher Jack Radel going No. 37 overall to the Colorado Rockies. While it may not seem like it’s a first-round pick, it’s a competitive balance selection, which still is considered in that round.

Radel had a fantastic season for the Irish, going 8-3 with a 3.29 ERA in 15 starts. In his 87.2 innings pitched this season, he struck out 116 batters. Those are extremely impressive numbers, but not the best place for a pitcher to land. The Rockies have not had any luck developing pitchers, so Radel’s hope is that he could potentially get traded to a different franchise.

It may or may not happen, but we’re all hoping that Radel hears his name going off the board very early in tomorrow’s MLB draft.

Final Mock Draft! Two full rounds of projections!

Lots of intrigue at the top is taking shape, but is definitely not settled yet.

Notes on signable high schoolers, threats to go to college, team connections, etc. https://t.co/wOam8g6L3q
