Fun fact, in case you forgot: Norman Powell was an All-Star last season for the Miami Heat! Dude had 21.7 ppg, over a steal a game and he shot 38 percent from three after hitting 41.8 percent from distance the year before.

And now, he's a member of the Chicago Bulls after signing a reported two-year, $45 million contract to join a young team trying to make a splash. So how did the Bulls do here?

First off, it's a short contract, which gives the Bulls flexibility. If Powell continues to perform as a shooter and Chicago is still stuck in play-in purgatory, then the Bulls can deal him as an expiring deal next year. But let's think about the current state of the Bulls. They have a young core with Caleb Wilson, Matas Buzelis and Dailyn Swain. They have Josh Giddey at the point. So perhaps Powell helps lift that group up, although as my colleagues pointed out, the defense in the back court is going to be iffy.

But the fact that it's a short-term contract for a solid guard who can give the Bulls an added dynamic with spacing? It's honestly pretty good! GRADE: B+
