All Sports:
The loss to Miami hasn’t slowed down Florida State’s momentum on the recruiting trail as four-star guard Martay Barnes (Ranked 67th Nationally and seventh at his position) in the class of 2027 is rolling with the Seminoles. Barnes, from Orlando, Florida by way of The Academy of Central Florida, chose FSU over offers from Auburn, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Kansas:
FSU’s 8th-ranked recruiting class looks like this now:
Four-star center Marcis Ponder (59th Nationally, 5th position)
Four-star combo guard Martay Barnes (67th Nationally, 7th position)
Four-star shooting guard Brandon Bass Jr (111th Nationally, 16th position)
Four-star small forward Collin Paul (114th Nationally, 43rd position) *Really strong year for small forwards
Four-star point guard Jasen Lopez (134th Nationally, 13th position)
Considering FSU’s lack of recent success and level of NIL support, this is an excellent class that coach has put together in his first year in Tallahassee.
Men’s Hoops is on the road this weekend against Georgia Tech 11-13 (2-7). Tip-off is scheduled for noon on the ACC Network.
12th-ranked Duke pulled away from Women’s Hoops in the second half last night; the regular season concludes on Sunday against Wake Forest:

Former Seminole and BCS National Champion, Corey Simon, welcomed the 2025 National Champions to the Capitol:
21st-ranked Baseball will host the Citadel this weekend, in the mean time I’m still in shock at how far Myles Bailey hit the ball the other way; this is Aaron Judge type power hitting:

They’ll be back on the diamond for a very early 10am start for the first of two games against Rutgers.
Football:
Having a former 1st-round draft pick and nine-year vet at LB coach makes it a little easier for guys to buy-in to what your coaching:

Duce Robinson is one of CBSSports 10 most lethal playmakers in college football in 2026.
Robinson was “Mr. Bailout” for Florida State’s offense last season. When the Seminoles needed a big play in the passing game, Robinson’s number was called — often on third down and in single coverage.
He averaged 19.3 yards per reception, scored six touchdowns and finished with 1,081 receiving yards, becoming FSU’s first 1,000-yard wideout since Tamorrion Terry in 2019. A Biletnikoff Award semifinalist after transferring from USC, Robinson is now a team captain and could elevate himself into first-round consideration in 2027 as a 6-foot-6, 223-pound target in Tallahassee
Pro Noles:
After signing a two-way deal Jamir Watkins impressed the Washington Wizards enough to convert it into a two-year standard contract with the Wizards; congratulations Jamir:
The Washington Wizards are signing two-way guard Jamir Watkins to a new two-year contract, agents Drew Morrison and Sam Rose of CAA Sports tell ESPN. Watkins has averaged 13.2 points and one steal in his last six games.

A rare player for player trade with no picks involved as former Seminole Jermaine Johnson has been traded to the Tennessee Titans for nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat; Robert Saleh is the new coach of the Titans and he always liked JJ when the Jets took him in the 1st round in 2022.
Trade: the New York Jets are sending DE Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for DT T'Vondre Sweat, per ESPN sources.
The trade cannot be processed until the start of the new league year in March. pic.twitter.com/PzdYW9JeZ1

New York, thank you for everything truly. The love I’ve been shown here for the past 4-5 years has been nothing short of amazing, both on and off the field. Y’all will always hold a special place in my heart. Wish all of my former coaches and former teammates the best!! Thank all…
