SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — No. 3 Jefferson and No. 5 Vermillion baseball both came away victorious on Tuesday night.
The Cavaliers upset No. 1 Harrisburg 3-2, scoring three unanswered runs. Kyler Boyd earned the win for Jefferson with 10 strikeouts and no walks across seven innings. Jefferson travels to Washington next for a 7:30pm first pitch on Thursday. The Tigers host O’Gorman on Thursday at 6pm.
The Tanagers exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning to take down Parkston 10-1. Nolan Nygren earned the win for Vermillion, allowing two hits and one run over seven innings with three strikeouts and two walks. The Tanagers travel to Elk Point Jefferson for a Sunday matinee duel.
