Nikolas Khamenia’s last game in a Duke uniform came in the Blue Devils’ heartbreaking loss to UConn in the Elite Eight.
Now, he will be wearing a Huskies jersey for the 2026-27 season.
The former 5-star recruit announced on Saturday that he is transferring to UConn after a successful freshman season in Durham, in which he put up 5.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 19.8 minutes per game.
The move was a surprise one as he was expected to be a key part of Jon Scheyer’s rotation next season with the departures of Wooden Award winner Cameron Boozer.
Khamenia becomes the second player from Duke to transfer this offseason, joining Darren Harris, who committed to Indiana.
