Nick Goepper, from Lawrenceburg, Indiana, fell just short of earning a medal by placing fourth in the Olympic men's freeski halfpipe final.
Goepper's first run of the three-run final earned a score of 29.25. His second earned an 89.00. Goepper was injured during a trick in his third run, but walked out of the halfpipe under his own power.
Fellow Team USA member Alex Ferreira earned the gold medal with a 93.75 in his third run. Estonia's Henry Sildaru earned silver. Canada's Brendan Mackay won bronze.
Earlier, Goepper placed second in freeski halfpipe qualifying by scoring a 90.00 in his first run. He then gave a shout-out to Perfect North, heard on Peacock's broadcast.
Goepper was competing in the Olympics for the fourth time.
In halfpipe, competitors perform a number of tricks while skiing down a semi-cylindrical slope.
Earlier in the day, Team USA's Connor Curran, who grew up in Sharonville, reached the final in men's aerials but failed to advance to the medal round.
Goepper, 31, was seeking his first Olympic gold medal. He won two silver medals and a bronze in slopestyle before transitioning to the halfpipe.
"I think it's been the best (Olympics) yet," Goepper told Peacock after qualifying, while predicting an American sweep on the podium.
The Olympic men's freeski halfpipe and aerials were rescheduled to Feb. 20 because of adverse weather conditions in the form of a snowstorm in the mountain town of Livigno, Italy.
The Winter Olympics are being televised on NBC and Peacock.
