The Steelers are home to some of the top talent in the NFL, including the exceptional pass rusher T.J. Watt. However, the team also has a few players who often fly under the radar. Recently, Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski shed light on one of these players as the offseason training activities (OTAs) approach. He spotlighted Nick Herbig, a Steelers pass rusher, as a well-kept secret among NFL teams gearing up for OTAs.

"The Pittsburgh Steelers have a type. The organization knows how to evaluate outside linebackers who fit their system at an extremely high level. They have done so for decades now," Sobleski wrote on Monday. "Nick Herbig looks like another major hit following TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith.

"Herbig finished second on the Steelers last year with 7.5 sacks. He has explosive traits. At the same time, he's stuck behind Watt and Highsmith, both of whom are signed to long-term contracts. The NFL is paying attention, because the league understands what Herbig can do even in a rotational role."

The Steelers selected Herbig in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he has done a great job over the past three seasons. In 45 career games, he recorded 16 sacks and nine forced fumbles.

Pittsburgh will need to rely on Herbig more this season, and if he can take another step forward in 2026, the Steelers will have a strong shot at repeating as AFC North champions.
