Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs was a state wrestling champion during his high school days, and he could be set for a return to the mat in a massive way.

Wirfs, a four-time All-Pro selection and starting lineman for the Buccaneers, was in attendance at a Real American Freestyle (RAF) event on Saturday night, when current RAF Heavyweight Champion Wyatt Hendrickson called him out. And Wirfs did not seem to want to back down from the challenge.

"Listen, we know you be Gable [Stevenson], we know you're Captain America, but you ain't wrestled 340, I know the Bucs wouldn't mind me whooping your a**," Wirfs said.

Hendrickson said he wanted to see "some big boys like this get a real taste of wrestling" and looked ready to lock up with Wirfs right then and there, but no action commenced on Saturday evening. But when pressed on the matter, Wirfs seemed to confirm he was interested in making the match happen.

"I don't know, he called me out," Wirfs said. "What do we think? I don't think the Bucs have a problem with it. We'll get out here, I'll go get my singlet on it, we'll scrap a little bit, I'll take that belt home with me."

Hendrickson responded by accepting the challenge, though no official details were set in stone. It would likely make for an entertaining bout – Hendrickson was the 2025 NCAA National Champion, and Hendrickson was an Iowa 2A State Champion in high school.
