It's safe to say Riley Moss has outperformed his contract.
The NFL announced 2025 performance-based pay distributions on Monday, and the Denver Broncos' cornerback received the 12th-highest total ($1,136,103) in the league. That's not far from Moss' base salary ($1,245,226), and the cornerback's 2025 compensation has now nearly doubled.
"The Performance-Based Pay program is a collectively bargained benefit that compensates all players based upon their playing time and salary levels," according to a press release from the NFL. The program essentially rewards underpaid players for outperforming their contracts. The league handed out $542 million following the 2025 season.
Last year, fellow cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian led the Broncos with a $773,090 bonus.
"Under the Performance-Based Pay program, a fund is created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation based upon a comparison of playing time to salary," the NFL said. "Players become eligible to receive a bonus distribution in any regular season in which they play at least one official down. In general, players with higher playtime percentages and lower salaries benefit most from the pool."
Here are Denver's top-five performance bonuses, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis:
The payments are made by the NFL and do not impact the team's salary cap.
