Newcastle United are interested in recruiting the services of SC Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi this summer, according to the Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope. Newcastle have scouts at the World Cup and the Magpies would love to bring the Switzerland international to the St James Park club as manager Eddie Howe prepares for next season. Manzambi has been one of the best players at the tournament in North America, with three goals and one assist to his name in three appearances.
Newcastle could do with his creativity and verve in the middle of the park, but they will face competition for the Swiss. Switzerland are preparing for take on Algeria in the round of 32 of the World Cup, and Manzambi will be raring to go and impress.
