On Thursday, the New York Yankees have the day off following a series with the St. Louis Cardinals.
They dropped two out of three from the Cardinals (at home).
Most recently, the Yankees lost by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

Recently, Mitch Garver was released by the Seattle Mariners.
@MarinersPR wrote (on August 4): “Roster moves: Brendan Donovan, INF/OF, reinstated from 10-day Injured List (left groin muscle strain). Taylor Ward (#27), OF, reports to club. Seranthony Domínguez (#58), RHP, reports to club. Jhonny Pereda, C, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma. Mitch Garver, C, released from roster. Rob Refsnyder, OF, released from roster. Stuart Fairchild, OF, designated for assignment.”
The 35-year-old had been batting .175 with 22 hits, four home runs, 15 RBIs, 17 runs and one stolen base in 50 games.
He had been in the middle of his third season with Seattle.

The Yankees had been a team that was expected to land a catcher at the trade deadline.
That said, they were unable to complete a move for one.
Recently, Badabooms (the producer on the Sal Licata Show) mentioned that the Yankees should consider signing Garver.
Badabooms: “Did you see that Mitch Garver got released? Why shouldn’t the Yankees go pick up Mitch Garver? I’d rater have him than Ali Sanchez.”
