The New York Jets have made another special teams move and made their roster younger in the process.

The team announced that kicker Greg Zuerlein has been released:

Zuerlein, 37, has spent the past three seasons in New York. His release comes in little surprise.

Zuerlein was let go just days after punter Thomas Morstead, 39, was released. The age cutting this offseason also includes the departures of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.

Without Zuerlein and Morstead, the Jets only have three players on their roster over the age of 30 in Tyrod Taylor (35), Allen Lazard (30) and Josh Reynolds (30).

Without Zuerlein, New York's training camp will likely feature a kicking competition with Anders Carlson and Caden Davis, who was signed as an undrafted free agent last week out of Mississippi.

Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
