New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch issued a statement Friday night addressing his name's appearance in the latest release of Jeffrey Epstein files by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The documents, which include over three million pages released on Friday, contain emails from 2013 showing correspondence between Tisch and the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In his statement, Tisch described their interaction as limited.
"We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with," the statement read.
The statement was provided through the Giants organization following reports on the newly public emails.
Tisch's name reportedly appears at least 440 times in the materials. No allegations of wrongdoing by Tisch are directly stated in the released documents related to Epstein's criminal activities.
