Lincoln 10, Tiverton 9
Seeing a win disappear at the buzzer, the Lions hung tough and Riley Bouthellette played the role of hero with the game-winning goal in overtime that put the Lions past the Tigers, 10-9.
The game was close all night long and just when it looked like Lincoln was going to pull out the win, Avery Craig stepped up to keep Tiverton going. The freshman’s goal just before the buzzer tied things at nine and gave the Tigers second life.
But the Lions didn’t let the last-second goal shake their confidence. They came out strong and Bouthellette came up with the big goal to give the team the win.
Grace Araujo led the Lions with four goals and Bouthellette had three. Spencer Cameron helped out with a pair of goals.
Samantha Borden led the Tigers with three goals and Maeve McHugh and Craig both scored two.
Lincoln goalie Emmy Araujo and Tiverton freshman goalie Angelleena Cordeiro both played well, making big saves throughout the night.
