A new team has reportedly enter the mix for former Michigan State forward Jaxon Kohler.

If Kohler is able to play a fifth year of college hoops, it may be for the Louisville Cardinals. College basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported on Tuesday that Louisville has entered the mix for Kohler.

Louisville joins Kentucky, Kansas and BYU as reported teams to be in contact and pursuing Kohler via the portal. Michigan State is not expected to be in the mix for Kohler, with Spartans head coach Tom Izzo stating last week that his roster is set in stone and no additional players will be brought in as part of the fifth year injunction rule.

Kohler wrapped up his four-year career with the Spartans this past season, averaging 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game to help lead Michigan State to the Sweet 16. He was not selected in the 2026 NBA Draft but played with the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League.

It'll be interesting to see where Kohler lands, but with Louisville now in the mix, it seems like he has some great options for next season.

Jaxon Kohler tells me that he's now also receiving interest from Louisville. https://t.co/wImHtpApv2
